Our three promises to hosts
- We curate, we don't compete. We make your work visible. We boost your audience, celebrate your progress. We won't run a competing event against yours.
- It's a big tent. MCW welcomes many climate stories at once: We support all-of-the-above solutions. Corporate sustainability teams, government agencies, advocacy groups, and neighborhood associations all share one calendar. MCW isn't an advocacy organization, and neither is Twin Cities Climate Collaborative. The week itself doesn't campaign for any single position.
- Funded by the community, never owned by it. Sponsors help pay for the week. They don't get editorial control over it.
What Minneapolis Climate Week Team provides
- The calendar. One shared calendar at luma.com/mpls-cw, so dozens of independent events read as one week.
- Promotion. Countdown newsletters, a daily guide during the week, and social posts. We can't feature every event in every issue, but every event is on the calendar.
- Connections. We'll introduce you to possible co-hosts, venues, and speakers when you ask or we have a good fit.
- Clash-checking. We'll flag it if three similar events land on the same night.
- Organizer get-togethers to share plans and find collaborators. Dates TBD.
What we don't do
- Run your event. You own the content, venue, food, and logistics.
- Pay for venues or catering, in general. Honoraria are the exception (see Honoraria Policy).
- Sell sponsorships for your event under the MCW name. Hosts are free to secure event sponsors under your own name. Sponsorship of MCW itself runs through one central pipeline.
- Respond instantly. We're a small, entirely volunteer team. Give us a couple of days.
