This year, we’re building a real team.

Minneapolis Climate Week started small. In February 2026, more than 25 events across eight days were pulled together by a handful of people and a lot of goodwill. It worked. And also, it made something clear: a week this big needs a real team behind it.

So for 2027, we’re forming planning teams. Teams of 3–5 people will plan this year’s week (February 1–5, 2027) and help start next year’s. We’re also building a week-of crew for the people who’d rather show up in February and help it all run.

There’s two ways to volunteer for MCW 2027:

→ Planning teams. November through February and beyond. About 3–8 hours a week. Treat it like a part-time job you care about.

→ Week-of crew. Shifts during February 1–5: check-in tables, greeting people, helping hosts, taking photos. Fewer hours, same good energy.

Why Volunteer — What you get

Folks of all background as strongly encouraged to apply.

We especially want you to apply if you’re a student, BIPOC, an immigrant, a first-generation anything, LGBTQ+, disabled, or from a neighborhood that doesn’t usually get invited to this stuff. Or you’ve ever wondered whether climate work is for people like you.

In order to be successful, Minneapolis needs to involve the community, and our teams need to represent the community in all its fullness.

You don’t need a climate background. You need some time, some care, and the willingness to show up.
